CountyLineSeptember2011marriedandtheyrecentlycelebratedtheirthirteenthanniversary.WithhisfutureplannedwithPamCraigmadethedecisionthathewasreadytogobacktoschoolandcontinuehiseducationinhealthcaremanagement.Whilecontinuingtoworkfull-timeasapara-medicCraigattendedtheMedicalUniversityofSouthCarolinaClemsonUniversityprogramattheUniversityCenterinGreenville.Hecom-pletedthethreeyeardegreeprograminlessthantwoyearsgraduatingwithaMastersinHealthAdministration.Bythenhehadbeenworkingasaparamedicforsevenyearsandwasreadytotransitiontoacareerinhealth-caremanagement.CraigwenttoworkforHealthManagementAssociatesHMALakeNormanRegionalMedicalCenterastheiras-sistantexecutivedirectorin2002.This117-bedregionalmedicalcenterthatwaslocatedinMooresvilleNorthCarolinaprovidedCraigwithexperienceindevelopingnewprogramsandprocessesforthefacility.Hishardworkandaccomplishmentswererecognizedandin2003CraigwaspromotedtotakeonthepositionofchiefoperatingofceratHMAsSandhillsRegionalMedicalCenterinHamletNorthCarolina.InthispositionCraigwasre-sponsibleforthedailyoperationsforthera-diologylaboratorycardiopulmonaryphysicaltherapyenvironmentalandfacilityservicesanddietarydepartments.OneofCraigsmajoraccomplishmentswastheimprovementsthathemadetotheradiologydepartmentwhichincludedthepurchaseandinstallationofnewequipment.In2004CraigwastransferredtoHMAsCarolinaPinesRegionalMedicalCentera116-bedmedicalcenterandwasthechiefoperatingofcertherefortwoyearswhenheacceptedthepositionofvicepresidentofprofessionalservicesatOconeeMedicalCen-terinSenecaSouthCarolina.Thisfacilitywasa169-bedacutecarefacilitya120-bedskillednursingfacilityandahomehealthhos-piceandEMSbothemergentandconvales-centagency.CraigsnextcareermovewastoParadiseValleyHospitalinPhoenixArizona.Hebeganhisworkatthis136-bedacutecaremedicalcenteraschiefoperatingofcerwaspromotedtointerimchiefexecutiveofcerandthentochiefexecutiveofcer.CraigwasoneofmanycandidateswhowentthroughtheextensiveinterviewprocesstollthepositionofchiefexecutiveofcerofEmoryJohnsCreekHospital.Lastspringhewasofferedandac-ceptedthepositiontoleadthis110-bedfacil-itylocatedon65-acresinJohnsCreek.Iamveryhappytobothbegiventheopportunitytoleadthisexcellentfacilityintoitsfutureandtomovewithmyfamilytosuchawonderfulcom-munitysaidCraig.MovingbacktotheSouthbringsourfamilymuchclosertomyfamilyinGreenvilleandweareallhappytobelivingintheJohnsCreekarea.Thiscommunityhassuchanexcellentqualityoflifeandsomuchtoofferourfamily.CraigandPamhaveadaughterClairewhoisnine-years-oldandtheirsonAndrewissix-years-old.WhenImnotworkingatthehos-pitalsaidCraigIspendeveryotherminuteenjoyingthetimethatIamabletospendwithPamClaireandAndrew.SincemovingtotheJohnsCreekareathefamilyhasbeenattend-ingPerimeterChurchandmissionworkisapriorityfortheMcCoys.LastspringPamspenttwoweeksonamissiontriptoUgandaandPamandCraigwillcontinuetomakeasmanytripsaspossible.ItisapriorityforbothofthemtoincludeClaireandAndrewintheirmissiontripsastheygetolderandtohavethefamilymakethesetripstogether.ThoughhisbusyscheduledoesntallowmuchtimeforitCraigenjoysgolngandhopestogetmoreplaytimeinthenearfuture.HealsolooksforwardtobringingAndrewandClairealongwithhimandgiving17
