Anitahelpsnurseswithhands-onCPRskillsaftercompletingthetrainingAnitademonstratesaCPRtechniqueonamannequinheartdefectsthatbecomecandidatesforsurgeryandthesecondweeksheisin-volvedineducatingmedicalstaffteach-ingthemairwaymanagementandCPRonaone-on-onebasis.WhenAnitawasonhersecondCHPtriptoMongoliaduringwhichshehelpedtobringsevenchildrentheirparentsandfourinterpreterstoahospitalinSanAn-tonioTexasforsurgeryshehadareal-ization.IlookedintotheheartsofthesepeoplethepatientstheirparentsthemedicalstaffatremotehospitalsandIrealizedthattheirheartsarethesameasours.IknewthatIwantedtodomoretohelpandhealthemandthisiswhenIthoughtabouttheconceptthatwouldbecomeNursesHearttoHeart.TheideatostartNursesHearttoHeartcametoAnitain2008andaftersever-alyearsofplanningonMay30thAnitaalongwithRobinSmallanurseatEmoryHospitalsOutpatientTransplantClinicandMollyKingaPediatricNursePracti-tionerintheICUatChildrensHealthcareofAtlantaarrivedatThirdHospitalinUlaanBaatarMongolia.ForthenextfourdaysAnitaRobinandMollyconductedathree-hourmorningandafternoonCPRtrainingsessionteachingnurseslife-sav-ingCPRtechniques.Withanaverageof16peopleineachclassAnitaRobinandMollywereabletotrainover100nursesinfourdaysofsessions.Throughfund-raisingbeforeleavingforMongoliaAnitawasabletopurchasefouradultandfourinfantmannequinsforCPRdemonstra-tions.Agroupof12nursesfromare-moteprovinceattendedthetrainingses-sionsrepeatedlysotheycouldreturntotheirfacilitiesandbepreparedtoteachotherstheCPRtechniquesthattheyhadlearned.DuringthelasttrainingsessionthesenursesusedtheCPRskillsthattheyhadlearnedtodemonstratethehands-ontechniquewithmannequins.AttheendofthisclassAnitapresentedthesenurseswithanadultandinfantmanne-quintotakebackwiththemtousetodemonstrateCPRtechniquesforothernursesanddoctorsintheirremotevillag-CountyLineAugust20119Nursesproudlyholdtheircerticates
